Cassadee Pope was just seven years old when she received her very first guitar for Christmas. While she didn’t learn to really play the instrument until she was 18, she treasured the gift.
“I had been wanting one and I was also too afraid to ask for one because I didn’t think I could play it very well,” she said. “But, it was big, big day for me. It turned me on to guitar and ever since then I would fiddle on it… I had it around and I wrote a few songs on it.”
While she didn’t write her debut single, “Wasting All These Tears,” learning the guitar did help her write several songs on her debut album, Frame By Frame, including “Everybody Sings,” “You Hear a Song, “This Car,” “11” and “Proved You Wrong.” Watch Cassadee’s “Wasting All These Tears” music video >>
